instructons on how to assemble the computer, review the Bios settings,
install the Windows XP Home operating system, and obtain the necessary
Windows updates over the internet. After you build your computer
and Windows, you get to take it home! (Monitor not included.)

Learn how to upgrade your computer's hardware components, operating
system and software applications. Determine whether or not it is
cost effective to upgrade individual components, upgrade with a
barebones system, or simply upgrade to a brand new computer. Receive
valuable insight on where to purchase parts and software at substantial
savings. You have the option to bring your own computer and you
will upgrade it yourself in class!
How To Buy A New PC
Learn what to consider before buying your next computer, such as
what are the various technological specifications and acronyms that
describe a computer. In addition, you will learn what type of memory,
hard drive, or processor you should look for based on your specific
application. You will also learn about the various types of warranties
that are available today, and which one is best for your needs.
Basic Small Office Networking
Learn how to network multiple PCs in your home or small office to
share files and printers, as well as share your high-speed internet
connection. We will discuss Network Interface Cards (NIC), Network
protocols such as TCP/IP, routers, firewalls, hubs and CAT 5 cabling.
In addition, we will also discuss wireless networks, such as 802.11.
Learn the basics about internet security, and how to protect yourself

Troubleshoot Your Own PC

Internet Safety

have received sexual soliticitian? Do you know where they go, how
long they're on, and who they're talking to? This class will address
the risks kids are facing on the internet, and why you should be
concerned about where your kids are surfing to. We will discuss
various methods of how you can protect your kids from going to inappropriate
sites, talking with strangers, or accessing the Internet after hours.
Receive an internet usage contract that you and your kids can agree
upon and sign together for their protection.

This course will teach you how to obtain a free email account on
the web, or how to utilize an email account you may already have
from your ISP. We will also discuss how to utilize web-based tools

as how to test it to make sure its working properly. In addition,
we will discuss HTML editing programs such as Dreamweaver, Frontpage
and more.
Build A Web Site For Your Business
Learn the basics about HTML, and how to build a basic web web site
for your business. Learn how to create a domain name that will attract
customer to your web site, as well as learn how to register a domain
name online. You will also learn how to create web pages, upload
the files up to your site, as well as how to test it to make sure
its working properly. In addition, we will discuss how to create
standard email accounts for your business, such as Sales, Support,
Info, etc.
